In order to measure the temperature of the GPU, HWinfo64 used for this purpose and we run 3D Mark Fire Strike to put maximum load on the GPU in order to get higher temperature. XFX dual fansink thermal design did a good job here, you can see that GPU has an idle temperature of 46-degree celsius, and under the load the maximum temperature is 72-degree celsius. The ambient room temperature during testing was 28-degree celsius. The GPU was quite silent during full load.
There is no doubt that the new AMD’s 7nm NAVI GPUs are more significant as compared to Polaris 14nm GPUs in terms of efficiency. We again used HWinfo64 to measure the power consumption of the GPU at idle and peak gaming level. Power draw of XFX Radeon RX 5500 XT THICC II Pro peaked at 114W under gaming and 13W during an idle state. With 114W under peak gaming proves that the AMD’s new NAVI 7nm GPUs are power efficient.
