On March 16th Noctua finally unveiled their newest iteration of the NH-U12S and a NA-FK1 fan kit to fit into their Redux lineup.

The Redux product line has always aimed at providing the best bang for the buck. The announcement of the NH-U12S is particularly special as it is the first cooler to stem out of the Redux lineup.

Noctua’s CEO Roland Mossig asserted “Our redux line fans have earned an excellent reputation for providing trusted Noctua quality without breaking the bank

However, it is important to note that the NH-U12S has few notable differences. It only has 4 heat pipes instead of 5. Furthermore, the heat sink is only cooled by one NF-P12 redux fan that operates at 1700 RPM. These changes also increase the noise generated by the fans as the NH-U12S had a noise level of 22.4 dB, whereas the the Redux variant goes up to 25.1 dB.

Few of these changes can be addressed down the line by picking up the new NA-FK1 fan kit.

The NH-U12S Redux will be available for $49.95 and the NA-FK1 fan kit can be picked up for $16.95.
