NH-15, NH-12S, and NH-L9i by Noctua are arguably one of the better available Air Coolers but..”Do they come in black?” Well fellas, turns out that they indeed do come in black.

So It’s Black but, What else is Different?

Apart from the color, there are no changes in the design of the heatsinks. Every component (with the exception of the NA-SAVP3 rubber pad which is also available in blue, green, red yellow & white) of the new variants including the radiator, heat pipes is well…black which frankly speaking contributes a lot to an overall minimalist and graceful design. Hence complementing builds featuring black matte cases. The heatsinks as you can see in the subsequent image, radiate fairly decent and smooth vibes, ultimately portraying the pinnacle of luxury.

Noctua had a few words to say pertaining to this sudden release as well.

“OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN ASKING US FOR ALL-BLACK COOLERS FOR A LONG TIME, BUT WE’RE SOLDERING THE FINS TO THE HEATPIPES IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE OVER MANY YEARS OF USAGE AND THIS PRODUCTION PROCESS IS DIFFICULT TO COMBINE WITH COATINGS,”

The CEO Noctua: Roland Mossig added:

“IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME AND ENGINEERING WORK TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE COATING MATERIAL AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THAT GAVE US SATISFACTORY THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND CONSISTENT VISUAL APPEARANCE. NOW, WE’RE PROUD WITH THE END RESULT AND CONFIDENT THAT THE NEW CHROMAX.BLACK COOLERS WILL MEET THE HIGH STANDARDS NOCTUA USERS HAVE COME TO EXPECT.”

The MSRP are as follows :

  • NH-D15 chromax.black.swap : EUR 99.90 / USD 99.90
  • NH-U12S chromax.black.swap : EUR 69.90 / USD 69.90
  • NH-L9i chromax.black.swap : EUR 49.90 / USD 49.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.black : EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.blue : EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.green : EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.red : EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.white : EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90
  • NA-SAVP3 chromax.yellow: EUR 6.90 / USD 6.90

Moving on, in my opinion, this was a very prudent move seeing as to how most PC enthusiasts often lean towards AIO Coolers, solely due to color they have to offer, completely disregarding any priorities they have for Air Coolers. Furthermore the addition of different colored rubber pads increases the overall flexibility these coolers offer.

What do you think about them? What rubber pad would would complement your build’s theme? Let us know in the comments section.

Ciao!
