Following the game’s switch from a bracket-style season to a league format after the end of the Pro League Season Seven finals in May, the title has seen a massive increase in its viewership on Twitch.

Following the pattern was set by other leagues that debuted in 2018, such as that of NBA 2K and Overwatch, R6 was also striving to build on the large number of viewers that its second Six Invitational brought.

Rainbow Six Siege increased its total hours watched from 40.79M in 2017, to 87.56M in 2018. and E-Sports is certainly chief among the factors causing this increment. Huge spikes in viewership, as seen in the graph above, correlated directly with some of the game’s biggest Pro League events.
