NZXT has been a major brand in the gaming hardware, software, and PC building service industries for a long time now. Today, the company announced its first ever lineup of audio products targeting gamers. As cited by their press rep, “the full suite includes the AER wired headset with Hi-Res certification, STND headset platform for sleek storage, and MXER audio control station.” As expected, the products have a very sleek and minimalist look to them, which has become a signature of the brand. The AER is a lightweight gaming headset with two varaints: open and closed-back. Both designs are combined with the STND platform and MXER station for automatic audio switching between, for instance, the headset and a set of external speakers.

A brief feature list of the AER SERIES

  • At 291 grams, the lightweight design and Hi-Res Audio certified drivers allow users to play as long as they want with zero ear fatigue, while also minimizing and sort of external distractions.
  • Two headset designs are available – the standard AER which provides an enclosed audio stage and powerful bass, while the AER OPEN boosts mid-range audio and focuses more on natural sound for environmental awareness.
  • The modular design enables users to attach the cable or mic on the left or right of the headset, to suit their own unique hardware set-up.
  • A 1.8 meter long cable can be plugged and unplugged easily for a seamless transition from PC to Console, or from gaming to on-the-go listening.
  • Nahimic 7.1 Surround – With USB connection, integrated software delivers an immersive, ultrawide soundstage, controlled furtehr through the NZXT CAM software.

  • Precision voice/game mixing with smooth, studio-grade fader.

  • Wolfson DAC – high-quality 24bit / 96kHz digital-to-analog conversion ensures sonic accuracy.
  • Automatic switching – Setting headset on the STND while MXER is connected automatically switches audio to your speakers. Removing it from the STND returns audio to the headset.
