Rumors are floating around the Internet of Nvidia planning to release a GTX 1070 Ti, equipped with 2304 CUDA Cores (vs 1920 CUDA cores for the GTX 1070) and 8 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit bus interface. These specifications bring the potential 1070 Ti very close to the popular GTX 1080.

The rumored GTX 1070 Ti is supposed to be based on the GP104 die, same as the 1070 and 1080.The picture above shows a ASUS Strix 1070 Ti being listed as a part of pre built system. If the rumors turn out to be true, it could mean that Nvidia wants to extend the life cycle of the Pascal line up, giving customers a slightly more powerful mid to high end GPU for a reasonable and therefore, directly compete with the Vega lineup from AMD. This could lead to a confusion in terms of pricing as the 1070 and 1080 are already sitting at $349 and $499 respectively. It could mean that we may see a hefty price drop for the GTX 1070 to allow for another small segment of the market to be filled with a 1070 Ti. This is all speculation at this point, we will keep you updated as more info is obtained.
