Intel is reportedly preparing a new flagship CPU known as Core i9 9990XE, According to the Anandtech, Intel will announce this new HEDT CPU with no price-tag and may not be sold directly, it will only be available to purchase through Auction.  Intel’s chips have never been as cheap so this is not a new thing for us. The current high-end CPU right now in Intel for consumers is the Intel i9 9980XE rocking 18 cores at 3.5GHz base frequency at the 165W of TDP already selling for around $2000 USD.

The Core i9 9990XE is said to have 14C/28T at base 4.0Ghz/5.0GHz on all-cores boost frequencies and 5.1GHz with the help of turbo-boost 3.0 at INSANE 255W OF TDP. There is nothing special about this CPU in-fact they core count have been reduced from 18C/36 to 14C/28 but +0.5Ghz more core frequencies and at that rated TDP you’d require a good X299 board for the solid stability and performance, We suspect such a chip will be targeted at the few people who want more cores and frequency however, the source also states that these processors will be available in limited quantity and Intel will offer it to selected OEM’s in auction.
