Intel Coffee Lake will not support 200 series motherboard ASRock has confirmed

Intel’s Coffee Lake six-core CPUs, which are the company’s successors to its current Skylake CPUs will not be compaitable with  200 series motherboards . Intel introduced LGA 1151 Skylake based on 14nm about 2 years ago, According to the ASRock tweet 8th Gen CPUs will not be supported by existing 200 and of course 100 series motherboards

 

PC enthusiasts are waiting for several exciting products to hit retailer shelves in the coming months including Threadripper and RX Vega and one of the highly anticipated Intel Six-core CPUs as they offer 50% increase in core count. Intel is going to compete with AMDs Ryzen 5 Hexacore CPUs with this.
