AMD has released their Ryzen Threadripper 1900X, The 1900X offers an affordable entry point into AMD’s X399 platform and the processor itself will cost only $50 more than Ryzen 7 1800X. If AMD’s AM4 platform does not offer the I/O capabilities of your requirements, then X399 platforn can help you out with the Threadripper 1900X releasing as a great entry level desktop processor for the X399 platform offering the same number of PCI-e 3.0 slots as AMD’s more expensive 1920X and 1960X.

If you can’t afford the X399 platform, You can freely find the Ryzen 7 1800X for a lower price from many retailers and the X399 platform is only a month old, so the absence of affordable X399 motherboards makes the difference between the two processor even bigger. This is a huge opposition to Intel’s i9 desktop CPUs who is offering low amount of PCI-e lanes with their lower end X299 processors PCI-e lanes than their higher-end CPUs.

AMD’s Threadripper 1900X comes with a boost over AMD’s Ryzen 7 1800X, offering base/boost clock speeds of 3.8/4.2GHz, giving the 1900X more Single-Threaded performance over 1800, with it’s support for 4-channel memory and additional PCI-e slots.
